Here’s a selection of places that I have visited which I think you may find of interest.

I have put together a few places that i think you may find of interest if you like to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the British countryside and everything it has to offer. I have spent many a happy time in all of these places, (and many many more), I feel that it is worth the drive to be able to relax at your destination and to feel free from the troubles of life.
Derbyshire

| The Nags Head in Edale, Derbyshire This 'watering hole' is right at the beginning of the pennine way in the small village of Edale, With many other beautiful walks in all directions.

Peveril Castle in Castleton, Derbyshire It’s a bit of a trek up the snaking footpath but it’s well worth it for the view, with many more walks from this great little village.

| Eyam Hall in Eyam, Derbyshire. The village of Eyam tells the sad true story of the village during the 'Bubonic Plague', every house has a tale to tell about the 'Black Death'. This is a place well worth visiting for the fear factor alone.

Speedwell Cavern in Castleton, Derbyshire This is a pretty exciting boating experience if you like the dark and dampness of Caverns, just sit back in the boat and enjoy the ride.

| Winnats pass in Castleton, Derbyshire This winding round takes you out of Castleton, past Speedwell Cavern and up into the hills. Drive with caution as the climb is steep and can be tricky.

Cumbria
Fell foot Park near Newby Bridge, Cumbria The walks around this park are easy
with beautiful views across Lake Windermere. Some lovely colours can be seen during Autumn season when the leaves begin to
fall..well worth the short drive from Cartmell.

| Tarn Hows near Coniston in Cumbria An easy walk for the young and the old around this Tarn with some beautiful spots to admire the view. Well worth the drive.

Cartmel race course,Cartmel in Cumbria This lovely little racecourse is only open at certain times of the year but it is well worth the visit for the fun you can have.

| Elterwater near Ambleside in Cumbria A gentle stroll around this beautiful scenic area, well worth packing a picnic hamper and taking your time as you wonder.

View from Gummers How, Cartmel in Cumbria The walk up this 'mountain' is fairly easy but care should be taken as the pathway is rocky. Once at the top the views are splendid and well worth the hike.

| View over Lake Windermere in Cumbria This is one of the many lakes in Cumbria with the some of the most beautiful
sights i have come across. Take the time to relax and enjoy the day in the peace and quiet.
You could also try one of the many boat trips acroos the Lake for total relaxation.>

Keswick town center, Cumbria This beautiful little town is full of interesting shops and is a good place to begin one of the many walks up the mountains.

| Coniston in Cumbria This peaceful village is world famous for the ill fated water speed record attempt on Coniston Water by Donald Campbell

Cheshire
Bramall Hall in Bramhall, Cheshire This beautiful Hall with it's many acres of land are worth the visit as the day can be spent relaxing around the well tendered gardens.

| Chadkirk Chapel near Marple in Cheshire This is a lovely walk down a track and through some lovely woods, bringing you out into the well tendered gardens and Chapel

Lyme Park in Disley, Cheshire Lyme park is one of the most beautiful places to visit in and around Cheshire, with it's grand 'Hall' and splendid gardens an entire day can be had in one park.

| Marple 'flight' lock in Marple,Cheshire This part of the 'Cheshire Ring' was the last section to be renovated, joining the High Peak canal and the Macclesfield canal it is a haven for narrow boat lovers. Narrow boat training

Scotland
Edinburgh Castle in Edinburgh
Dominating the historical city of Edinburgh in Scotland, this Castle sits on an extinct volcano with stunning views from the towering fortress. This city is full of things to do and many sights to see, you will spend many a happy hour exploring the beautiful building and peaceful scenery.The Royal mile in Edinburgh, at one end is Edinburgh Castle and at the other end is Scotlands new parliament building, in front of Holywood park and Salisbury Crag.
In between is ‘the free church of Scotland collage, assembly hall, st giles church, holy rod house.
**Legend has it that the ‘mile’ is haunted by the death coach, drawn by black horses, this coach is supposed to haunt many different countrys and is said to be picking up the souls of people who have recently died.
The ‘coach’ in Edinburgh runs along the ‘royal mile’ from Holyrood house to the castle,
Local tradition states that if the coach is sighted then there will be disaster in the city.
